How to write your own future in 3 simple steps.

Today is August 10th, 2019...


This "DATE" has been one I have been reading to myself for the last few weeks. Since the day it was brought to my attention while discussing a strong mindset with my team. Where do you want to be by DAY 1 of pre-season training. You have approx. 100 days to write your future. What will you do?


The feeling in the classroom that day was one I wont forget. The team was filled with joy and determination. Ready and willing to put in the work needed to be at their absolute best for our upcoming season. So naturally, I did the same. Because even as a coach I have just as much preparation and work to do in the next 100 days to be at my best. Not just for me...but for them.


Over the last 2 years (thanks to some great education, mentors and friends) I have been able to find and use these mindful tips and tricks...that have helped lead me into a path of growth and happiness. So how can we truly write our future? Or at least... get us pretty dang close to where we want to be. These 3 simple techniques are a great place to start.



1. Journal

- Sounds simple right? No... its actually quite complex and at times can be challenging. But a good place to start is to simply write a letter to your future self. Where do I want to be in 100 days? A year? A week? What did I do to get there? How will I feel when I am there? And then more importantly... read/edit your journal entry as time passes. Don't let it just sit there.... let it drive you daily. This leads to step #2....


2. P.O.A.

- Create a plan of action. KEY* that you can consistently follow.

Writing our thoughts is a great first step. Because our minds are extremely POWERFUL when POSITIVE and our thoughts often lead to our actions . Good actions lead to even better results. Wouldn't be great if we could just think about 1million dollars and the next day it appeared in front of us. We would all be millionaires. But in order to "get that million bucks" for example... we still have to act daily in a way to attract this into our lives. This leads to step #3...


3. Law of Attraction/ God Winks

Tell the world what you want and the world will give back to you. Be good to others and others will be good to you. Simplify this theory. Create a vision board and journal that vision statement. These are great ways to attract into my mindset daily where it is I want to be. Another important step to law of attraction is being able to identify when it is happening. Those gut feelings, the irony in a message you received from a friend, the time you were late to work but something greater happened when you got there. As a believer, God is often showing us in many ways during our day to day life what next steps we need to take. Practice attracting what it is you truly want into your life by believing right now that you already have it.

Its been a few weeks of reading my August 10th vision statement and I am already seeing growth in my mindset. It is keeping me on track to be the best coach, mentor, coworker, and friend that I can be come pre-season. So comment below... where do you want to be and how will you get there?
