To begin, I hope that everyone is safely home and in good health. Im happy to be back on the blog with ideas on how we can find joy in this time of solitude. We are ALL experiencing something new, feeling anxious with the uncertainty. But rather than living the next chapter in fear I wanted to share as much light, love, and hope to you all during this time.
Thoughts on Solitude:
Everything starts and ends with our mind. How we get through this time will depend a lot on how we approach each day. What thoughts are you having right now?
Negative?
"This is awful" "I miss my life" "What am I supposed to do now?" I am lonely" "I cant believe this is happening" Now what?" "Im not motivated to do anything"
Positive?
"This will be a time of rejuvenation and exploring!" "I am capable of productivity" "I am excited to learn more about myself and grow from it." "I can take this time and choose healthy habits & relationships"
Finding peace and joy in being alone is something that many of us struggle with. The one big take away from the last few years of being on my own and away from roots...was that solitude can lead to strength, independence, confidence, happiness & PEACE. So trust the process even when it is hard and confusing. We can grow so much more than we may realize in this time...but our minds must be open to it. The challenge now is how to change the way we view this pandemic. What can we do to help? What can we accomplish rather than lose out on? Who can we give love to? Push your mind to think this way next week!
Tips to Sweetness:
3 important tips to establish/ keep in place during the COVID-19 quarantine.
1. Build/Keep Relationships Strong
"It took a plague for us to _____"
During last weeks mass this statement was followed with many examples of areas we as humans have put on hold due to our busy lives, that we are NOW making a priority for. Focusing on relationships was just one of many examples. I have been able to reconnect with more people in the last few weeks than I have in the last few months. Why? Why should it take a plague for us to reach out to those we care about? Regardless, use this time to work on building relationships with new friends and keeping the ones strong with those you love!
2. Define a good health routine:
This will look different for everyone... so here are a few good places to start:
1. Eat REAL food. Fill your diet with whole plant based meals. Take the time to cook!
2. Drink water. Lots of it. Your body will thank you.
3. Move More. Even though we are stuck inside...find a way! Whether its walking/ doing an at home video. Youtube is great for this. Move multiple times a day.
4. Be Mindful. Mental health is just as important in a good routine. With less distractions right now we can be more aware. Create positive thoughts and work to change bad ones.
3. Break a bad habit:
We all have them. So how can we be better? To start I am reading the book "The Power of Habit" and it is a good place to start for ideas. My 1 habit to change: Putting the phone in a different room before going to bed. Spend more time in the AM and PM with reflection and prayer. Choose 1 small habit that can lead to a big change!

In conclusion...reset and be grateful for all you still have. This time will pass. Praying for good health & sending love to you all. xoxo
